About the Band
With their contagious energy, undeniable
chemistry, pro musicianship, and unique song
selection, Broken Hip connects with a wide
variety of audiences by playing music that
spans five decades - defiantly timeless and
boldly contemporary - their infectious energy
and unique musical and vocal sound bridges
generation gaps. Getting acclimated over the
past few years playing at local clubs and
festivals has found the band engaging audience
members of all ages. The energy of their
performances makes Broken Hip one of the
most exciting and promising new local bands to
emerge in any musical genre.
Broken Hip formed in 2005. With each member having been in the
business for over a quarter century, the band immediately began playing
at small venues locally. Broken Hip has since been performing in clubs,
at private parties, has hosted open mic nights, and highlighted the 24th
and 25th Annual Taste of Roselle, and headlined the 26th. Broken Hip
has also headlined Arlington Park Racetrack, as well as at Lamb's Farm
for its 1st Annual Barn Burner Festival. The Hip has also played many
other festivals, including The Taste of Park Ridge, the Mt. Prospect Lion's
Club Festival, and this year will make its first appearance as Montgomery
Fest's headling act. After the festival season ends, Broken Hip plays
corporate parties and upscale clubs, such as The Avenue Alehouse in
Oak Park, and Harry's of Arlington in Arlington Heights. Broken Hip
performs material by artists such as Ashley Simpson, No Doubt, Kelly
Clarkson, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Blondie, The
Pretenders, Pink, and on and on...with three heavy-hitting lead singers in
the band's current lineup, two slick guitarists, one hard-hitting drummer
and a hot bass player, there's bound to be something for everyone...find
out for yourself.
