Um...did we say Paul? Uh, yeah...we meant LARRY MITCHELL! Boy, did we get lucky! We stumbled across an old colleague of Steve's, an amazing guitar player named Larry Mitchell. This guy's hard core - he's great. We look forward to our Maiden Voyage gig with Larry Mitchell on September 28 at Pumpkin Fest! Stay tuned for pictures and bio of Larry, coming soon.
Wow, Taste of Roselle was amazing this year. We had our biggest, most enthusiastic crowd at the Taste so far! It was standing room only, the weather was perfect, we had the BEST TIME! Can't wait till next year! Thanks to Tony for making us the Friday Night Headliners!

The Hip is heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend, 37 year old Pat Terry. Pat passed away in late July. We considered Pat to be "The Fifth Hipster" - he attended most of our shows, helped with sound, recording, repertoire, troubleshooting, morale and everything else a band could ever want. He also taught Lisa G. how to play the bass. Check out Lisa's tribute to Pat under the "You Tube" section of The Hip's website, which can be accessed from the main page.

The Hip welcomes our new guitar player, Paul Gase! Paul is a skilled guitar player and has a great voice; we're looking forward to having him on the team. We've been really lucky to have been able to work with such fantastic musicians! It's great to have Paul on board...check him out at his debut with The Hip at Harry's of Arlington in May.
May, 2007 - The Hip is sad to announce the departure of Frank Bailey. Frank will be concentrating more on his other band, Broken Glass. We enjoyed the time we had with Frank! Check out his band at www.brokenglassband.com.
March, 2007 - The festival season is right around the corner, and The Hip will be front and center this year to entertain! The Hip has been invited to play at the Lions' Club's Mount Prospect Festival, as well as The Taste of Park Ridge. We'll also be playing an exciting show at the Arlington Park Racetrack. Of course, The Hip has been invited back this year for our third appearance at The Taste of Roselle. We are looking forward to an entertaining 2007 Festival Season.
March, 2007 - The Hip is sad to announce the departure of Rick Henry. Although it was hard for us (and Rick) to see Rick move on, Rick was transferred to Phoenix for his job. We had a great time playing with him, and we'll miss his awesome guitar skills (not to mention his friendship). So long Rick! We hope to have a few guest appearances from Rick when he's in town.
March, 2007 - Broken Hip welcomes FRANK BAILEY as our new lead guitar player! Frank comes with a great deal of experience, and we're thrilled to have him on board. We hope you'll check out his bio, and see him at one of our upcoming shows.
February, 2007 - The Hip will be taking its annual mid-winter break to work in some new material. We look forward to being back onstage at the end of winter, in the spring.
Dec. 2006 - The Holidays are upon us - join us in December for a Holiday Party at the Chicago Loop in Streamwood.
December 2006 - Cindy Maheras of Battlefield, Chicago's only officially sanctioned Pat Benetar tribute band, dropped in to join us onstage for a few numbers at the Chicago Loop - it was a great party!
November, 2006 - The Hip attends the SPRA Show at its new location in Des Plaines! It was great seeing everyone there!
November, 2006 - The Hip is back in the studio! Since putting together our new lineup and set lists, we wanted to have a current representation of what we're playing. Check out our new "Hip Clips" and you can see what we've been up to.
Nov. 2006 - Broken Hip's new Chicago Bears Tribute Song, "Hold On Tight," is played on The Jonathan Brandmeier Show on WLUP!
October, 2006 - The Hip is heard on Lake County's 102.3, WXLC Radio.
Oct. 2006 - Broken Hip is excited to announce that we'll be playing the first annual BBQ Barn Burner at Lamb's Farm. This is a professional BBQ competition, sactioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society.
Aug. 2006 - Broken Hip plays the Taste of Roselle again this year! See you there!
